Dr. Terriel R. Byrd is the 3rd oldest child of the late Otis Charles and R. Geneva Byrd. A native of Oxford, Ohio, he received his doctorate from Union Institute & University, Cincinnati, Ohio.
Dr. Byrd has more than 30 years’ experience as a lead pastor, and is founding pastor of Living Word Christian Community, Inc., West Palm Beach, Florida. He began his pastoral call at First Baptist Church in Oxford, OH. He is also the former pastor of Inspirational Baptist Church in Cincinnati, Ohio, where he served for 12 years. Dr. Byrd also serves as a professor of Urban Ministry Studies at Palm Beach Atlantic University and oversees the Evening Ministry Program. He is the author of “I Shall Not Be Moved: Racial Separation in Christian Worship” and “By This Shall We Be Known: Interpreting the Voice, Vision, and Message of Martin Luther King Jr.”. In 2007, Dr. Byrd was awarded with the Charles and Hazel Corts Award for Outstanding Teaching, and he was recognized in Marquis 2011 Who’s Who in America, and the 2004-2005 "Who's Who Among America's Teachers," honoring the nation's most respected teachers.
His greatest ministry is that of his family where he serves as the husband to Mrs. Toni Byrd. To this union was born Kasha (Norvel) Bethel, Terra Couzens, and Rachel (Jacques) Alexis. They are also the proud grandparents to Julian, Trinity, Charity, Grace, Evelyn, and Eliana.
